Xbox COmmunicator

  • anyone know how to fix this?

    mine is f**ked up:/
    since I didn't have internet before..I never used this communicator. And my microsoft headset was broken.
    I bought a new one...but it didn't come with a communicator.

    Now I had internet. I though something was wrong with the headset.
    But I tried the headset on my mobile phone...works fine.

    When I play online...I can't even hear what people say..I have to set it to voice through tv. Recently I connect to xbox live, the headset makes some noise...people always tell me to turn off my mic.
    I dunno what the problem is. I opened it, dunno what to do. I pressed some pins and such. However, when I pressed a particular pin, I could hear people louder, so i don't need voice through tv!

    When I put the case back and connect it to my controller, it makes the noise. BUt when I connect it without the case...it doesn't make the noise.
    But I still think it other noise, but can't hear it through the headset.

    I connected a multimeter to some pins, it started to make a damn smoke!
    I dunno how to fix it:/ cuz buying a new communicator, will just be a waste of money, since I already have a headset.
    If only they sell the communicator alone.


    Anyone know how to fix it? or know a good place where I can get it seperate or for cheap?


  • i suffered the same fate that alot of people out there will know about. whilst on xbox live, i dropped my controller, it ripped the headset off my head and snapped the fiddly little bracket on the headset.

    I bought a cheap generic one off ebay and people complained about the same kind of thing, a humming and squealing noise coming from me.

    Buy a generic one that is proven to work or buy microsoft.

    You could always open the controller and solder the headset cables straight in but i dont know how well that would work as i assume the communicator acts as an amplifier.

    i would buy it...but I dunno if it comes with the communicator.
    because I already have an headset..its the communicator that doesn't work!
